Award of Garden Merit

Tender perennial climber, best treated as an annual, with three lobed leaves and small tubular dark red flowers, fading to orange then creamy yellow in summer. Best in sun and moist well-drained soil.

Spread: 50cm

Soak seed in warm water for 24 hours. Sow onto moist compost in containers in spring at 18c. Cover the seed to its own depth with compost. Lightly cover seeds with a thin layer of fine grit. Prick out when large enough to handle
