Half Bushel Trug
Beautiful and highly practical, the Sussex Trug has been used in gardens since the 19th century. It can be used to collect fruit, vegetables or cut flowers as well as to carry gardening items.

The frame is made from coppiced sweet chestnut and the boards from willow. This half-bushel sized trug doesn't have feet - the boards rest directly on the floor. There are also two extra chestnut straps.

Our trugs have long been made by the same family and we still have trugs at Great Dixter that were made by the present maker's father for Christopher Lloyd's father, Nathaniel Lloyd.

Half-bushel sized trug.
